Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires the performance of precise calibration measurements and repair functions on electrical/electronic/physical/mechanical type reference and secondary standards, and related equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining these standards and equipment to the requirements necessary for achieving traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the United States Navy, or other recognized national metrology institutes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform varied work assignments within the Metrology Organization to acquire the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform the duties of a qualified Calibration Technician Senior.
  • Utilize technical knowledge in the field of physical sciences or electronics to complete tasks.
  • Work with general purpose hand tools and computers to perform calibration and metrology tasks.
  • Qualify for and maintain certifications/qualifications and/or licenses to perform assigned duties.
  • Direct calibration and metrology experience is required.
  • Must be a United States Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Five years of experience calibrating Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment.
  • Proven ability to function successfully in a team environment.
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer software applications.
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician.
  • Attended various training for Metrology, such as DOD PMEL or manufacturer training.
  • Familiarity with following procedures and quality inspection verification.

This role is an hourly/Non-Exempt position within the SPACE business unit at Lockheed Martin. The work schedule is 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Lockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
