Job Title: Outside Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Sales Engineer to join our team at Branom Instrument Company. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing customer relationships, providing technical sales support, and determining customer pricing strategies for various manufacturers in the Sacramento and Central Valley of California Region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage customer relationships and provide technical sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Determine customer pricing strategies and negotiate contracts to meet sales goals.
  • Work closely with Inside Sales and Technical Support teams to determine customer needs and provide solutions.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or technical application advice.
  • Display or demonstrate products, using samples, electronic or printed literature, and emphasize salable features.
  • Quote price, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained with assistance from Inside Sales teammate.
  • Estimate dates of delivery to customers, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts within 30 days of date of expense.
  • Penetrate all target accounts and radiate sales from within the client base.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems and deliveries.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet websites, and other sources.
  • Attend tradeshows, training, and other meetings on behalf of the company.
  • Coordinate customer training.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM curriculum (preferred), Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent education from a technical school; or at least ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database software, Project Management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base salary between $70,000 - $80,000 annually; PLUS monthly commissions.
  • Monthly commission - accountability to meet and/or exceed annual/quarterly/monthly sales goals. Commission is a percentage of Gross Profit produced.
  • Vehicle policy - lease or car allowance, fuel reimbursement.

Work Environment:
