We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our Wind Group. The successful candidate will have the ability to interact with various staff members at all levels, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities:


The Project Engineer will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, managing, and resolving field coordination issues with project team members and participants. This will include:



  • Interpreting project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
  • Implementing the pre-construction quality plan
  • Obtaining and maintaining all necessary construction permits
  • Working with the Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses
  • Developing and maintaining: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement
  • Log, Non-Conformance Report
  • Managing, creating, and distributing contract documents
  • Establishing handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
  • Incorporating all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase

Testing and Inspection Processes:


The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program. This will include:



  • Implementing a three-phase inspection system
  • Establishing reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and any off-site testing procedures
  • Notifying the Project Manager and Superintendent promptly of test results or inspection items that do not conform to contract requirements

Submittals:


The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing submittals, including:



  • Setting up a register in accordance with project specifications
  • Obtaining the customer/architect's approval
  • Preparing project-specific transmittal forms in PCMS
  • Coordinating the packaging, review, and processing of submittals
  • Expediting submittals to ensure material deliveries are in sync with the project schedule
  • Communicating details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Issuing submittal requirement letters that outline packaging and processing requirements
  • Providing periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect
  • Coordinating details of various subcontractors, including verifying insurance, preparing paperwork, and requesting final payment from Finance

RFIs and Change Orders:


The Project Engineer will be responsible for developing and distributing RFIs and Change Orders, including:



  • Defining and implementing procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-build construction documents
  • Incorporating subcontractor as-built documentation in the procedures for revising or updating contract documents
  • Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of field engineers
  • Other duties as assigned, including:
  • Determining alternative work methods as needed
  • Coordinating safety and compliance for all team members
  • Maintaining a schedule of timelines and following through until completion

Qualifications:



  • Minimum of two years related construction experience
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
  • Current driver's license

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management
