Role Summary

The Global Business Intelligence (GBI) organization is at the forefront of managing Apple's extensive enterprise data warehouse, which encompasses vast amounts of data and processes billions of rows to deliver insights that facilitate informed business decisions.

The GBI team specializes in data analytics, machine learning, and data science solutions, utilizing a variety of technology stacks including Snowflake, HANA, and SingleStore, alongside multiple processing and analytics tools.

As an experienced Engineering Program Manager (EPM), you will play a pivotal role in steering the delivery of projects, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and fast-paced application development.


Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will oversee project management for significant business initiatives, including:

  • Leading all facets of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including defining, scheduling, prioritizing, tracking, measuring, and communicating project status.
  • Collaborating with diverse teams across multiple layers of the technology stack and engaging with cross-functional partners, including project managers, engineering teams, and business units.
  • Facilitating brainstorming sessions for requirements and design reviews with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of functionalities and features.
  • Identifying potential risks, eliminating obstacles, and fostering effective communication among teams.
  • Assisting with additional EPM responsibilities such as maintaining project roadmaps, overseeing resource capacity, and implementing project governance frameworks.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in engineering project management within Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics.
  • Familiarity with various project methodologies, including Waterfall, Change Management, and Agile/Scrum.
  • A proven track record of managing large, complex cross-functional programs and uniting multiple teams towards a shared goal.
  • Strong self-motivation, collaboration skills, and a proactive approach with demonstrated critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to adapt and thrive in ambiguous situations, promoting transparency and driving impactful business changes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and data warehousing, with prior experience in large-scale system migration projects being highly desirable.

Education

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
