OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Refrigerated Freight Operator is tasked with adhering to the responsibilities outlined within the Quality Management System (QMS), Quality Manual (QM), and Calibration System Description (CSD). This role ensures compliance with the internal Final Inspection process as per CSD Appendix 13 Table 3, aligning with International Standard ISO 17025 and National standards Z540-1 and Z540.3.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete the Quality Management System Training course online via Teamsite, starting from the first day of employment.
  • Familiarize oneself with specific processes and procedures relevant to the role, beginning on the first day and continuing as necessary.
  • Collaborate with customers or their representatives to clarify requests and monitor laboratory performance, ensuring confidentiality is maintained.
  • Participate in initial ESDC training for personnel handling electronic instruments and components.
  • Attend workshops as needed to enhance understanding of quality criteria related to specific tasks and the Quality System.
  • Obtain and maintain a Certificate as a Final Inspector, demonstrating satisfactory completion of training, skills, experience, and educational requirements.
  • Act impartially, providing fair assessments related to job functions and reporting any identified unfair practices to a superior or HR manager.
  • Selection for QC inspection roles is based on aptitude, awareness of quality principles, and relevant education or experience.
  • Engage in initial and ongoing training to ensure proficiency in Quality Checking and Final Inspection.
  • Possess knowledge of quality and calibration industry standards.
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality management principles, including continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand the fundamental processes of all functions and their significance to work quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Receive adequate training in handling sensitive instruments and identifying non-conformances, along with proper reporting methods.
  • Document qualifications and certifications as evidence of annual reviews and compliance with requirements.
  • Handle all equipment with care to maintain accuracy and value, ensuring protection from contamination during transport and use.
  • Notify relevant departments of any instrument damage detected at any point of service.
  • Inform the QA Manager, Customer, and relevant managers if an instrument is lost, damaged, or stolen while in possession.
  • Identify nonconforming sources, whether instruments or management systems, and alert the QC Supervisor and Lab Manager accordingly.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Travel inter-divisional for training as required.
  • Work collaboratively with MicroPrecision teams to meet delivery schedules and manage tasks to achieve assigned deadlines.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, providing factual information to support coordination.

Continuously enhance knowledge of MicroPrecision Calibration Services and share insights and best practices with team members as needed.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards while performing tasks, following company policies and maintaining confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

The necessary professional qualifications and experience to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience.

Training:

Complete QMS exams 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 201, and 401.

Complete ESDC Teamsite Module within three days of starting employment.

Training Evaluation Form signed by QC Supervisor to confirm competency in verbal and written skills and qualification to inspect work against documented procedures.

Meet and enforce MP CSD Appendix 8 on Cleaning and Preparation.

Meet and enforce MP CSD Appendix 9 on Handling, Storage, Preservation, and Transport.

Meet and enforce MP CSD Appendix 13 Table 8 on Final Inspection Process.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 1 year in Final QC Inspection or equivalent experience. Driving experience is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify critical issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of industrial and quality standards (ISO / IEC, ASTM, ANSI, etc.) is beneficial.
