We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team and lead our accounting and financial activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and directing our accounting and financial operations, providing financial guidance and support to our management team, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and supervise the activities of our Accounting department, ensuring the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including receivables, payables, and payroll functions, and internal and external monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports, as required.
  • Lead the month-end closing cycle and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Develop and implement internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for accounting activities, including cash and credit management, payroll, and inventory management.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Coordinate annual financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of manufacturing cost accounting and maintain internal systems and controls to verify the integrity of systems, processes, and data.
  • Prepare, support, or direct the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
  • Analyze financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
  • Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses, and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Respond to the Finance Director as assigned, with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
  • Oversight, mentoring, and cross-training of accounting staff.
  • Participate in special projects and compile necessary data and reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting and finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
