Position Overview

The role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and reliability management for the operation and upkeep of fixed, rotating, electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities exemplify the range of tasks associated with this position, but are not exhaustive. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability and mechanical integrity (MI) strategy for Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation systems, as well as fixed and rotating machinery.
  • Support design and construction efforts to embed reliability within equipment systems for new and replacement projects.
  • Offer technical expertise, guidance, and data analysis to plant inspectors and reliability technicians.
  • Guide and mentor production engineers in technical matters.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and reliability enhancements proactively.
  • Lead or engage in root cause analysis to identify and mitigate failure modes.
  • Utilize asset utilization metrics to prioritize resource distribution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve issues.
  • Act as the primary technical resource for equipment system challenges across the facilities.
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules, procedures, and programs based on Reliability Centered Maintenance principles.
  • Document and maintain records on fixed, rotating, electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following knowledge and skills:

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Control Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required, along with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in maintenance, MI, and/or reliability for fixed, rotating, electrical, control, or instrumentation systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, transmitters, flow meters, transformers, and motors, as well as fixed equipment like piping and vessels, and rotating equipment such as compressors, turbines, and pumps.
  • Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills and Abilities
  • Expertise in Root Cause Failure Analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with reliability and MI systems and programs.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with company procedures and operations is advantageous.
  • Understanding of materials science, including metallurgy and corrosion.
  • Ability to develop and apply key metrics for system and equipment reliability.
  • Proactive in preventing failures, identifying issues, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders regarding the significance of reliability in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation systems and fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Long-term focus on eliminating root causes rather than merely addressing symptoms.
  • Skill in prioritizing limited resources for optimal company returns.
