Job Description

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our SPS Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support for our Contribution Profit (CP) product.

CP is a critical component of our flywheel, driving profitability and controllership initiatives across our WW Consumer businesses. As a Finance Manager, you will work closely with operations, finance, accounting, and technical teams to audit, develop, and implement CP allocation methodologies that assign billions of dollars of revenue and cost to items and shipments.

You will be responsible for building mechanisms to drive controllership, accuracy, insights, and innovation in our products, directly impacting measurable, large-scale improvements for the business, finance, sellers, and customers.

This role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and the successful candidate must have the ability to influence senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, data analytics, and presentation of alternatives.

The ideal candidate will possess solid business judgment, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to dive deep into business problems and help solve them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute audit programs on Contribution Profit components and provide detailed findings
  • Partner with global, diverse stakeholders to develop and propose new allocation methodologies for revenues and cost
  • Provide validation and impact analysis support for program launches
  • Develop and automate governance and financial controllership mechanisms to ensure accountability, data quality, and accuracy through all aspects of the business workflow
  • Dive deep into financial statements, build financial bridging, and benchmarking to measure accuracy and variance analysis using Cognos TM1
  • Identify automation and tooling opportunities to drive efficiency and improvements in the audit and allocation processes
  • Ability to gather, reconcile, and analyze very large datasets through SQL and other analytical tools
  • Identify and communicate key metrics, achievements, and opportunities and understand the needs of our customers and users to drive product enhancements
  • Project management experience and ability to prioritize enhancements, features, and projects
  • Facilitate financial review meetings with cross-functional business, technical, and senior management

About the Team:

PBMS Finance is the primary finance partner for CP products (HCP and FLCP) and all customer-facing analytical tools within Profit Intelligence (Phoenix) and Chronicle products (Fortune, Turismo, Overwatch, and CP to P&L bridging).

These tools drive critical decisions such as pricing, selection, and key business insights for Amazon and power Amazon's flywheel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 7+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
