Scientific Director, Center for Research in Women's Health Science
3 weeks ago
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a highly accomplished Scientific Director to lead the Center for Research in Women's Health Science (CREWHS). This esteemed position will be responsible for mentoring junior researchers in women's health or sex differences research, with the goal of producing impactful publications and securing additional grant funding.
The Director will oversee the CREWHS annual RFA process, evaluating and selecting research grants to support innovative projects. Additionally, the Director will continue their own research, manage their research team, and secure funding to advance the mission of CREWHS.
Cedars-Sinai's commitment to improving women's health and care is evident in the CREWHS mission: to foster innovation in research, clinical care, education, and policy to improve the health and care of women throughout their lives.
The Director will facilitate multidisciplinary sex-based research by:
- Providing seed funding to junior investigators for projects focused on improving women's health care and outcomes.
- Offering education and training to support the next generation of leaders in women's health research.
- Funding internships for premedical and graduate students to promote early interest in women's health science.
- Creating a public awareness campaign to address the critical gap in knowledge about women's health.
Under the Director's leadership, CREWHS has achieved notable success, awarding 17 research grants in the past four years, resulting in four new R01s and multiple publications.
Cedars-Sinai is a world-renowned institution, consistently ranked among the best in Los Angeles for obstetrics and gynecology. Our commitment to personalized, compassionate OB-GYN care is evident in our innovative research and cutting-edge treatments.
As a Research Director at Cedars-Sinai, you will be part of a vibrant community of researchers, clinicians, and innovators dedicated to advancing women's health and sex differences research. Join us in our pursuit of equitable healthcare and representation in the communities we serve.
Cedars-Sinai offers a competitive compensation package, including a base pay range that takes into account factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate (MD or PhD or both) with three or more years of experience in women's health research, evidence of research funding, national or international prominence, and demonstrated ability in research mentoring.
Our compensation philosophy prioritizes fairness, equity, and transparency, ensuring that our compensation decisions are based on a wide range of factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
