Job Summary

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of science and technology exhibits for a new permanent gallery and special exhibitions at the California Science Center. The incumbent will coordinate and develop exhibit-related educational materials, establish relationships with the scientific community, and support fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement exhibit concepts and designs in collaboration with the Education Department and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with exhibit designers, fabricators, and installers to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of exhibits.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the scientific community, including researchers, scientists, and educators, to ensure the accuracy and relevance of exhibit content.
  • Support fundraising initiatives to secure funding for exhibit development and implementation.
  • Develop and manage exhibit-related budgets, schedules, and timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as museum studies, science education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in exhibit development, management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

This position is based in Los Angeles and requires frequent travel to exhibit sites and scientific institutions. The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.
