Process Engineering Manager for MOCVD Laboratory

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineering Manager to support research operations in the MOCVD laboratory and related cleanroom areas at Stanford University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with faculty and leadership to define technical needs for the MOCVD lab and develop execution plans to support these needs.
  • Manage the daily operations of the MOCVD lab, including overseeing business financials, strategic planning, and staff.
  • Oversee interdepartmental activities, projects, and efforts by applying advanced technical and professional knowledge.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Interface with clients to determine project requirements and establish service level agreements.
  • Monitor scientific, engineering, and/or technology trends and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend for adoption and implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Advanced degree may be required.
  • Experience leading or overseeing the work of technical staff.
  • Understanding of relevant scientific, engineering, or technical disciplines.
  • Ability to problem solve and synthesize and articulate technical and scientific methodologies, specifications, and information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten years of experience in managing a business unit focused on MOCVD and related fabrication technologies.
Work Environment

May require extended hours, evenings, and weekends. Physical requirements include frequently performing desk-based computer tasks, seated work, use of a telephone, and use of light/fine grasping.
