POSITION SUMMARY: The Memory Care Resident Care Assistant is responsible for delivering essential non-professional services and various resident care activities that cater to the personal needs and comfort of residents. This includes routine personal care, engaging recreational programming, housekeeping, and meal service, all performed in alignment with company standards and regulatory guidelines.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement daily care plans, addressing all aspects of basic living and personal care needs while accurately documenting the care provided.
  • Facilitate scheduled activities for residents.
  • Assist residents during meal times, ensuring their dining experience is pleasant.
  • Maintain awareness of residents' locations within the community.
  • Actively listen and respond to the needs of both residents and staff.
  • Monitor residents' overall health and report any changes to the Wellness Leadership team.
  • Uphold and promote the independence and dignity of all residents.
  • Keep accurate records using computers and other documentation methods, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate supply and equipment needs to the Health and Wellness Director or their designee.
  • Participate in all-employee and departmental meetings, as well as in-service training as required.
  • Perform routine light housekeeping and laundry tasks, reporting any hazardous conditions promptly.
  • Assist with residents' personal laundry as assigned.
  • Help maintain a calm and supportive atmosphere.
  • Complete all assignments in a timely manner, following the chain of command when the Health and Wellness Director is unavailable.
  • Report any unusual resident behavior to Wellness Leadership.
  • Understand and uphold residents' rights.
  • Adhere to established infection control and safety policies, employing good body mechanics.
  • Engage in ongoing training and maintain current certifications through the designated Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the community and the well-being of our residents.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HCA/CNA certification preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Food Worker Card preferred.
  • Strong command of the English language, capable of reading, writing, and interpreting administrative information.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk and stand continuously.
  • Capable of performing work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift between 11-50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Regularly carry up to 10 pounds, frequently carry between 11-50 pounds, and occasionally carry up to 100 pounds.
