Position SummaryThe Memory Care Medication Technician is responsible for providing medication support and personal care to residents, adhering to the protocols established by Ciel Senior Living.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote the mission, vision, and objectives of the organization, embodying and advocating for the company culture.
- Ensure thorough documentation in accordance with organizational standards to meet resident care needs.
- Participate in narcotic inventory checks during shift changes, ensuring precise record-keeping.
- Administer medications as prescribed, adhering to the "Rights of Medication Administration".
- Engage in routine medication cart audits as assigned.
- Assist with medication reordering processes.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the medication room.
- Facilitate timely communication with pharmacies regarding new medication orders.
- Notify families when mail-order medications require reordering.
- Follow physician order protocols for accurate processing of medical orders.
- Document and report any changes in resident conditions in accordance with established policies.
- Assist in the development and upkeep of resident care files.
- Participate in community wellness initiatives as assigned.
- Record residents' vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration) and weight as directed.
- Monitor residents for reactions to medications and report any unexpected responses to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate medical appointments based on resident needs.
- Respond promptly to call lights to address resident needs efficiently.
- Attend training sessions and maintain current certifications through the learning management system.
- Address concerns from associates, families, and residents to foster satisfaction and effective communication.
- Understand and participate in fire evacuation and disaster policies, engaging in drills as required.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal and health information of residents and staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge of compliance and ethics program policies and procedures.
- Complete all mandatory training related to compliance, HIPAA, and state and federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned that contribute to the success of the community and the well-being of residents.
Experience and Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED, or 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Medication administration training/certification as per state regulations.
- Must fulfill all health requirements.
- Experience as a caregiver or certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant per state regulations.
- CPR certification required.
- Proficient understanding of the English language for reading and writing.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to perform work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Occasional sitting, frequent lifting of weights up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting of weights up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent climbing of stairs and bending at the waist, knees, hips, and spine.
- Frequent squatting and twisting motions as needed.
- Frequent reaching and occasional overhead reaching.
