POSITION: Memory Care Resident Care Assistant
REPORTS TO: Health and Wellness Director
FLSA: Hourly
OUR MISSION: We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, fostering an environment where comfort, connection, and joy flourish.
POSITION SUMMARY: This role involves performing various resident care tasks and essential nonprofessional services aimed at addressing the personal needs and comfort of residents. Responsibilities include routine personal care, engaging in recreational programming (life enrichment activities), housekeeping, and meal service, all in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement daily care plans, ensuring all aspects of basic daily living and personal care needs are met, while documenting care provided.
- Facilitate scheduled activities for residents.
- Assist residents during meal times, ensuring their needs are met.
- Maintain awareness of the location of assigned residents within the community.
- Listen and respond to the needs of residents and team members.
- Monitor residents' overall health and report any changes to Wellness Leadership.
- Uphold and promote the independence and dignity of residents.
- Maintain accurate records through computer systems and other documentation methods, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
- Communicate supply and equipment needs to the Health and Wellness Director or their designee.
- Participate in all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as required.
- Perform routine light housekeeping and laundry tasks for the unit, reporting any hazardous conditions to the Health and Wellness Director or their designee.
- Complete assigned personal laundry for residents.
- Help maintain a calm and supportive atmosphere.
- Ensure timely completion of all assignments in accordance with the chain of command when the Health and Wellness Director is unavailable.
- Report any unusual resident behavior to Wellness Leadership.
- Understand and uphold residents' rights.
- Adhere to established infection control and safety policies, employing good body mechanics.
- Engage in training courses at the community and maintain up-to-date training records through the designated Learning Management System (LMS).
- Perform other duties as assigned that contribute to the success of the community and the well-being of our residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- HCA/CNA certification preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Food Worker Card preferred.
- Strong command of the English language, sufficient for reading, writing, and interpreting administrative information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand continuously.
- Capability to perform work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Occasional sitting.
- Ability to lift weights ranging from 0-100 pounds as required.
- Ability to carry weights ranging from 0-100 pounds as required.
- Ability to push weights ranging from 0-100 pounds as required.
- Frequent climbing of stairs, with elevator access available.
- Frequent bending at the waist, knees, hips, and spine; may involve lifting weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Frequent squatting to reach below the knee; may involve lifting weights of 50 pounds or less.
- Occasional twisting or rotating at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Frequent reaching, with occasional overhead reaching involving weights of 10 pounds or less, and below waist reaching involving weights of 25 pounds or more.
