Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at YWCA Central Massachusetts. As a Pre K Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with NAEYC standards and QRIS requirements, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for children.
  • Classroom Management: Supervise children during play and structured activities, maintaining a safe and healthy environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Communication: Collaborate with parents through regular updates on their child's progress, participating in parent activities as needed, and working with the Lead Teacher to support families in need of intervention.
  • Assessment and Record-Keeping: Assist the Lead Teacher in conducting Ages in Stages quarterly assessments using Teaching Strategies Gold, maintaining accurate classroom records, and completing required training hours.
  • Professional Development: Develop and implement an annual Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP), complete Environmental Rating Scales, and maintain NAEYC classroom portfolios.
  • Qualifications: DEEC Preschool Teacher certification is required; a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred, or enrollment in an Early Childhood Education degree program is necessary.

  • Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds and maintain a positive, cooperative attitude with colleagues and parents.
  • Solid computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
