Position Overview

The Vice President of Philanthropic Initiatives will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing philanthropy programs. This position is integral to the CARA leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions regarding fundraising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Inspire and lead the advancement team, fostering a culture of trust and engagement.
  • Donor Portfolio Management: Strategically manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on relationship-building and stewardship.
  • Development Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to create actionable fundraising strategies with clear revenue targets.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop dashboards and reports to track fundraising progress and team productivity.
  • Financial Oversight: Work with the CEO and CFO to ensure accurate budget development and operational efficiency.
  • Brand Representation: Engage with key donors to strengthen relationships and enhance revenue generation.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and at least seven years of progressive fundraising experience. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of philanthropic practices and a proven track record in leading successful fundraising initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

An advanced degree and significant experience in a higher education fundraising environment are preferred, along with knowledge of estate planning and comprehensive campaign strategies.
