POSITION SUMMARY:

HIAS is in search of a Financial Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily functions related to the invoicing and collection of funds. This role will collaborate closely with the Budget & Fiscal Compliance team to monitor all pending invoices, ensuring meticulous maintenance of financial records and databases. The supervisor will conduct financial analyses, follow-ups, and reporting to provide timely and precise financial insights to support operational needs. This position will act as a bridge between the Development and Finance & Accounting teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Guarantees prompt collection of all funds owed to the organization.
  • Ensures accurate and timely billing processes.
  • Records and applies all cash receipts in a timely manner.
  • Oversees reconciliation of federal draws and payments received.
  • Prepares invoices and billing statements for donors.
  • Generates accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Contacts donors regarding outstanding payments.
  • Facilitates deposits through digital check scanning and physical bank visits.
  • Monitors merchant services accounts for accurate processing of credit card donations.
  • Assists with bank reconciliation tasks.
  • Supports audit processes as needed.
  • Downloads and reconciles contribution files from merchant services with Raisers Edge reports.
  • Matches lockbox contribution reports with bank deposits.
  • Aligns donation files for contributions within the NS system.
  • Prepares cash receipts reports for accounting system entry.
  • Records daily contributions and deposits accurately.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of process enhancements.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a finance-related role.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly dependable and adaptable, with a quick response to varying situations.
  • Willingness to travel, including to challenging environments, may be necessary.
