Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with managing and executing maintenance operations, repairs, and construction projects in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, painting, plastering, and HVAC across all Berkshire Farm Center locations. This role will primarily be based in the capital region, with occasional travel required to support additional Berkshire sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections of properties owned and leased by Berkshire Farm to identify and address issues promptly and effectively.
  • Generate reports detailing maintenance activities, repairs, safety concerns, and other relevant incidents for presentation to management and staff.
  • Oversee service agreements and vendor relationships for all agency facilities.
  • Manage and guide the facilities team for designated locations.
  • Support office relocation initiatives to facilitate seamless transitions.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Facilities Operations on project development and capital budget proposals.
  • Assist in managing the agency's fleet of vehicles, including their delivery and relocation.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies during and outside of regular hours to ensure the safety of clients and staff, as well as the protection of agency property.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure compliance of facilities with state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct all tasks in alignment with established health and safety protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED is required; vocational or technical qualifications are highly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in building or mechanical trades (Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, fire systems, HVAC) is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Familiarity with life safety systems and building codes is preferred.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and possess a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • This position requires some travel.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary. On-call hours and emergency response duties will be part of the role.
Compensation

$60,000 - $64,000, commensurate with education and experience.
