Job Description

Gecko Hospitality is seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Banquet Manager is responsible for executing food and beverage services for corporate, private, and social events throughout the hotel. They work closely with the Event Planning department to ensure the successful execution of events, oversee employee breaks, set-up, and breakdown, and act as a "Manager on Duty" during events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview, hire, and train banquet and contract labor staff
  • Conduct monthly department meetings and schedule all banquet employees within the approved budget
  • Work closely with the culinary staff to address service challenges and implement procedures to prevent them from occurring
  • Collaborate with the event planning team to ensure events are executed efficiently and effectively
  • Provide exceptional experiences for guests

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Banquet Manager in a full-service, high-volume hotel
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate team members
  • Proven track record of managing food and labor costs
  • Knowledge of industry trends, food & wine pairings, and ability to come up with new and fresh ideas
  • Experience with corporate, business conferences, meetings, and weddings
