Whole Foods Market - Stocking Supervisor

The Stocking Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the scheduling and management of the Stock Crew while ensuring the efficient operation of the department. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining attractive product displays. The Supervisor collaborates with the Team Leader, Associate Team Leaders, and Order Writers to facilitate seamless team operations. All roles at Whole Foods Market emphasize the importance of upholding a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service to both customers and Team Members. Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures is essential, and Team Members should be ready to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in other job descriptions as needed. Additionally, adherence to health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and departmental duties, is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively oversees and assigns tasks according to departmental needs.
  • Collaborates with leadership to address team concerns or challenges.
  • Responds promptly to customer and Team Member inquiries and issues.
  • Engages in sorting and stocking activities for a minimum of 75% of the scheduled shift.
  • Aids in training initiatives as directed by Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, utilizing established training materials.
  • Cultivates a positive work atmosphere that promotes high Team Member morale.
  • Completes necessary inventory management tasks, including spoilage tracking, sampling, temperature checks, and sweep worksheets.
  • Monitors the productivity of the stocking crew using case count tracking methods.
  • Follows established procedures for opening and closing the department.
  • Sets and maintains the highest standards of retail execution.
  • Encourages a culture of teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Maintains awareness of customer flow and needs, directing Team Members as necessary to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and provides guidance to Team Members to foster a high-performance team and reduce turnover.
  • Conducts timely and comprehensive performance evaluations.
  • Consistently communicates and exemplifies the vision and goals of Whole Foods Market.

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 months of retail experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.
  • Requires hand use for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures, including freezing and refrigerated environments.
  • Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Proficient in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
  • May require the use of ladders.
