Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Gator Bio is a pioneering bioanalytical technology company based in Palo Alto, CA, dedicated to developing innovative solutions for the biopharma industry. Our cutting-edge technologies aim to address complex challenges in antibody, gene, and cell therapy development.

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our East Coast Customer Success team in Boston. This role will be responsible for providing expert technical support for a wide range of equipment and systems, both internally and on-site at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, perform, and document on-site installation, repair, calibration, preventative maintenance, inspection, and test tasks for BLI instrumentation.
  • Diagnose alarms, errors, or technical/mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain internal instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform and document system validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) for repaired and incoming stock.
  • Provide customer support via telephone, email, or customer visits.
  • Collaborate with customers, project teams, engineering teams, sales, and others to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities to maximize efficiency.
  • Report and contribute to DFS recommendations for products in development.
  • Document tasks performed at customer sites using SFDC.
  • Log all customer visits and generate new service-related documents.
  • Report quality issues to QT9 and complete tasks in QT9 in a timely manner.
  • Represent Gator Bio in a professional manner to build and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Produce timely and accurate expense reports.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of BS in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, optical engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on experience in instrumentation service.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work schedule and alter travel plans accordingly.
  • Mandarin language skills preferred.
  • Basic wet lab skills required.
  • Knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ a plus.
  • Spectroscopy instrumentation a plus (UV/VIS / Fluorescence / IR /FTIR / Raman).
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently.
  • Travel 50-75%.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, and/or move 50+ lbs. Long periods of standing, walking, and sitting required. Must pass a health screening.

Compensation: $35 - $55 an hour
