The GIS Administrative Coordinator will assist our client's Transmission Vegetation Management division by managing administrative duties, overseeing data management, and executing GIS-related tasks within their operational framework. This role requires effective communication skills and a strong command of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel. The candidate must be capable of handling various administrative responsibilities, managing data, and supporting GIS documentation. The position is primarily office-based, with some fieldwork as required by the client, comprising approximately 75% office work and 25% fieldwork.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all administrative operations, including expense tracking, scheduling, correspondence, and record maintenance to ensure the department runs smoothly.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data within the GIS work management system, applying best practices in data management.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive analytical reports and documentation related to vegetation management.
  • Provide advanced GIS support, including complex spatial analysis, detailed map production, and geospatial modeling.
  • Conduct thorough field data collection and verification processes.
  • Collaborate with senior management, internal teams, contractors, and external organizations to ensure strategic alignment and accurate data reporting.
  • Guide and train junior staff on administrative and GIS-related functions.
  • Execute data queries to identify discrepancies and highlight areas needing data refinement.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize duplication and redundancy in record-keeping.
  • Generate reports from data collection software.
  • Engage in client communications.
  • Utilize the Microsoft Office Suite effectively.
  • Occasionally perform fieldwork as necessary.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the client.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and GIS/work management systems.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience:

  • Two or more years of experience in administrative support and record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with work verification and vegetation management field operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with GIS is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of project logistics and analytics.
  • Strong technical and computer skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
