About the Role
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Sports Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children participating in our sports programs.
About the Job
- Monitor sports practices, clinics, games, or open play to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.
- Set up, monitor, maintain, and secure all supplies, equipment, and buildings to prevent accidents and maintain a clean environment.
- Respond to inquiries from participants, parents, volunteers, or other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Implement the YMCA's safety protocols related to branch and off-site operations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A high degree of interpersonal communication, conflict management, and customer service skills to effectively interact with participants, parents, and staff.
- The ability to independently get to the branch, gym, or fields for scheduled shifts.
- Maintain certifications in CPR/AED, state-approved First Aid, new staff orientation, branch orientation, and emergency procedures.
- Be available nights and weekends as needed.
Working Conditions
This position requires standing, walking, running, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and may involve movement of large and/or heavy equipment. The position also involves being outdoors for long periods.
