Aquatic Education Coordinator

We're seeking an exceptional Aquatic Education Coordinator to join our team at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering high-quality swim instruction and fostering a supportive environment for our participants. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on our community while developing your leadership skills and expertise in aquatic education.
About the Role:As an Aquatic Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for instructing swimming lessons, maintaining positive relationships with volunteers, members, and colleagues, and contributing to a safe and controlled environment. You will also train and supervise class aides as assigned, ensuring that our programs meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:- Instruct swimming lessons according to YMCA guidelines, preparing lesson plans and supporting members in achieving their goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, members, or program participants, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA, and encouraging parent or caregiver involvement.
- Convey information about aquatics programs and schedules, referring program participants and families to other programs as necessary.
- Maintain records as required (e.g., attendance, progress reports), adhering to all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
The effectiveness of this role is primarily measured by member satisfaction and the creation of a safe, clean, and controlled environment in accordance with the Metro Atlanta YMCA Philosophy.
Employment Requirements:- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
