Our client, a global leader in taste and nutrition solutions for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors, is seeking a Process Technology Manager. This role is pivotal in fostering continuous enhancement, providing consultation on specialized projects, and refining existing products and methodologies. The Process Technology Manager will act as the technical authority within a collaborative team at the Norwich, NY facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate standard operating procedures for current products and process enhancement initiatives ready for production, encompassing all in-process and final product specifications.
  • Offer guidance on scaling strategies and execution, particularly for intricate blends.
  • Oversee and refine process control recipes utilized in protein manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Product Development on bench and pilot product development and new launches.
  • Identify and propose continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing processes and devise implementation strategies.
  • Deliver technical assistance with Technical Support Services.
  • Focus on optimizing essential products to enhance efficiency and capacity at the facility.
  • Support the design and execution of pilot plant experiments for new product launches, customer inquiries, process enhancements, and troubleshooting alongside the R&D team.
  • Accompany the sales team to key clients where process expertise is essential.
  • Evaluate and authorize all operational discrepancies and deviations.
  • Manage the transfer of products to and from the Norwich facility.
  • May require handling of hazardous waste (training provided internally).

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field or process engineering.
  • Proficient in statistics and process control systems.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical ingredients sector, with a solid grasp of current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
  • Preferred leadership experience.
