Job Overview

The Senior Facilities Engineer will be responsible for supervising the on-site engineering team and providing essential support for the facility. This role includes managing Monthly, Quarterly & Annual Preventive Maintenance schedules, daily task assignments, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Senior Engineer will perform both Certified and Non-Certified Engineer duties while overseeing all engineering operations during their shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and repair all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and associated piping systems.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of refrigerant systems, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Handle the operation and maintenance of pumps used for secondary refrigerants and associated systems.
  • Ensure the functionality of air compressors and their distribution systems.
  • Maintain natural gas distribution systems, including all valves and control mechanisms.
  • Supervise the upkeep of water filtration systems, including piping and pumps.
  • Manage the operation and repair of electrical motors and engines that power various systems.
  • Oversee fuel oil systems, including pumps, valves, and controls.
  • Ensure the maintenance of sanitary sewer systems and associated components.
  • Maintain electrical power distribution systems for lighting and mechanical components.
  • Adjust controls for seasonal efficiency and maintain compliance with preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct regular audits and walkthroughs to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and mentorship to engineering team members.
  • Assist in the development and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Document all relevant data in building logbooks and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local codes.
  • Participate in administrative tasks as required by departmental policies.
  • Be available for off-hour support and participate in on-call rotations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Possess the highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC, along with a universal refrigerant recovery license.
  • Experience with building automation systems and computer skills are essential.
  • Certification in OSHA ACM awareness training is required.
  • Knowledge of energy conservation practices is essential; formal training is preferred.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $79.00. The compensation may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
