Job Overview

Position Title: EMR Specialist

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000

Role Summary:

The EMR Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. This position is essential for improving patient care and operational workflows while minimizing challenges faced by staff. The ideal candidate will focus on process enhancement and the training of personnel.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related discipline.
  • Possession of the necessary licensure and qualifications as mandated by state regulations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in EMR management, process enhancement, and staff education within a healthcare environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of EMR systems, particularly MatrixCare, along with clinical workflows and healthcare compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions for diverse healthcare teams.
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations and medical terminology is essential.
  • Intermediate proficiency in technology, including MS Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the configuration and optimization of the Constellation EMR system.
  • Act as the primary contact for EMR-related inquiries, troubleshooting, and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to implement system upgrades and new functionalities.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and safeguard patient confidentiality.
  • Conduct audits of user permissions and manage access in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Design and deliver training programs for clinical and administrative personnel on EMR functionalities and best practices.
  • Translate system capabilities into training scenarios and lead training sessions.
  • Provide continuous support to staff to enhance EMR utilization and streamline clinical operations.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for workflow improvements within the EMR context.
  • Engage with frontline staff to understand their challenges related to EMR usage.
  • Lead efforts to standardize workflows and improve user experience with the EMR system.
  • Work with quality improvement teams to assess the impact of EMR enhancements on patient outcomes.
  • Implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new EMR features.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
