Your Responsibilities

Position Overview:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, documenting, and executing individualized nutrition care plans for patients within the designated clinic. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, providing nutritional education, and collaborating on quality improvement initiatives. The role also involves resource coordination and evaluation of service delivery to meet established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The following list outlines essential functions and responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Facilitates timely and effective responses to physician orders, ensuring the acquisition of necessary services and coordinating multi-disciplinary referrals. 30%
  • Exhibits advanced clinical expertise and communication skills, serving as a mentor and resource for staff while fostering collaboration with medical personnel. 10%
  • Evaluates patients' nutritional requirements and formulates care plans tailored to their specific health conditions and demographics. Documentation of assessments must be timely and accurate. 40%
  • Analyzes clinical data to develop educational programs for staff, contributing to research initiatives that address community health needs. Establishes clinical standards in alignment with regulatory guidelines. 20%

Required Qualifications:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Registered Dietitian credentialed by the American Dietetic Association.
  • Proof of continuing education equivalent to 75 CEUs every five years.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge essential for successful job performance.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Understanding of therapeutic and general nutrition principles, with the ability to create tailored care plans.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate work pace in relation to workload demands.
  • Capacity to build and sustain effective working relationships across the healthcare system.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a graduate degree or advanced certifications such as CNSD, CDE, or CSP.
  • Familiarity with university and medical center policies and procedures.
