About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director for Hospice Care to join our team at Amedisys. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing quality palliative care to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a consultant to patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the provision of quality palliative care.
- Conduct educational seminars, in-services, and presentations to improve quality of patient care and promote hospice services.
- Collaborate with patients' attending physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Available for in-house or phone consultation for acute patient clinical problems.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
- Membership in good standing on the medical staff of at least one contracted hospital.
- Board certification in hospice and palliative care preferred.
