Position Overview:
The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing x-ray examinations as directed by healthcare providers. This role involves explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their safety, reviewing images for quality, and maintaining accurate records.Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcomes patients, verifies the procedure to be performed, and provides a clear explanation of the x-ray process.
  • Reviews patient medical histories before conducting x-ray examinations and ensures consent forms are completed when necessary.
  • Executes x-ray procedures in accordance with established protocols regarding body positioning, radiation intensity, and exposure duration.
  • Processes and evaluates x-ray images to confirm they meet the standards required by the radiologist.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and functionality of equipment and examination areas, manages film storage, and oversees the inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Compiles patient information records, including names, dates of procedures, referring physicians, and the number of images taken.
  • Prepares and submits reports detailing the types and quantities of x-rays performed.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Flexibility is required, with potential shifts on weekends and holidays in addition to weekdays.

Qualifications:
Experience
  • N/A
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of accredited training in radiologic technology.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Radiologic Technologist License (Maryland)
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Basic Life Support Certification
Additional Skills:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for patient interaction.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with relevant computer software is necessary.
Preferred Experience:
  • At least one year of experience in a radiologic technologist role, including practical training and internships.
