Position Overview:
The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing x-ray examinations as per the directives of referring medical professionals. This role involves explaining the x-ray process to patients, ensuring their safety, and reviewing images to confirm quality standards, while also preparing necessary documentation and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients, verify the required imaging procedure, and provide a clear explanation of the x-ray process.
  • Examine patients' medical histories before conducting x-ray procedures and ensure that any necessary consent forms are duly signed.
  • Execute x-ray imaging following established protocols regarding body positioning, radiation dosage, and exposure duration.
  • Process and evaluate images to ensure they meet the radiologist's specifications.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and the examination area, manage film storage, and oversee the inventory of related supplies.
  • Compile patient information records that include the patient's name, date of the x-ray, referring physician, and the number of exposures taken.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports outlining the quantity and types of x-rays performed.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays may be required in addition to regular weekdays.

Qualifications:
Experience:
  • N/A
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of accredited training in radiologic technology.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Radiologic Technologist License (Maryland)
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Basic Life Support Certification
Additional Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction. Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as hearing, speaking, and seeing.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software applications is required.
Preferred Experience:
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist is preferred, including practical training and internships.
