About the Role

CoolSys is a leading provider of indoor environment solutions, and we're seeking a highly skilled Service Technician 3 - Refrigeration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment, including compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical control devices.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, including compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical control devices.
  • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
  • Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.
  • Provide general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and operating efficiency of mechanical equipment.
  • Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations.
Requirements
  • Completion of a refrigeration technician training program (HVACR) from a technical school or completion of a technical program from a JR College.
  • Must have a valid EPA certificate.
  • 1-3 years of commercial refrigeration experience required.
  • Equivalent passing grade, 80% or better, on Tek Skills Level 3 test.
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is very helpful.
  • Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.
  • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.
