Position Overview:

Insight Global is in search of a Senior Environmental Geologist to enhance our team. This role will focus on supporting various federal environmental assessment and remediation initiatives.

This position offers a hybrid work environment, with approximately 25% of responsibilities conducted in the field and 75% in an office setting. Typically, employees will spend three days in the office and two days working remotely.

The selected candidate will be tasked with data visualization and the creation of 3D digital site models to aid in subsurface investigations and remediation efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze geological and chemical data to draw informed technical conclusions and document findings in project reports utilizing text, visuals, and graphs.
  • Take charge of executing basic to moderately complex tasks and projects.
  • Plan and oversee remedial investigations and remediation initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight in field operations.
  • Conduct field testing, multimedia sampling, and other investigative fieldwork.
  • Maintain and enhance expertise in technical areas, particularly in hydrogeology and groundwater remediation.
  • Mentor junior staff in technical domains to strengthen the overall capabilities of the team.
  • Engage in technical report writing and data evaluation activities.
  • Assume management responsibilities for tasks based on expertise and experience.
  • Support technical roles in projects and programs.
  • Participate in proposal development and project management tasks.
  • Monitor health and safety protocols on projects and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance procedures and recommend necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) license, or the ability to obtain one.
  • 8 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER supervisor certification.
  • Experience with CERCLA and fractured bedrock.
  • Background in federal programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting as a Geologist or Environmental Engineer.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, 3D modeling, and visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with GIS, EVA (Earth Volumetric Studio), and Leap-Frog software.
  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
