Your Role as an Addiction Recovery Counselor:

The Addiction Recovery Counselor plays a crucial role in our patients' treatment and rehabilitation from opioid use disorder. Counselors deliver compassionate, high-quality care through various formats, including both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver compassionate guidance in both individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Plan, oversee, facilitate, and document patients' recovery processes.
  • Co-facilitate assigned group or family therapy sessions as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents.
  • Develop individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
  • Conduct initial assessments and follow-up evaluations.
  • Assess patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
  • Plan aftercare for assigned patients as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention to patients when required.
  • Perform case management duties for patients, ensuring personalized quality care.
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients when necessary.
Qualifications

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in social or health services field with 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency; or
  • Bachelor's degree in social or health services field with 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency; or
  • Master's degree in social or health services field with a practicum in a health or human service agency;
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Prior experience and knowledge in addiction recovery and/or MAT (medication-assisted treatment) environments preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Not required; position applicable to the following: AAC, CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CS, CCS, LPC, BSW, MSW
