Job Overview

Position: Substance Use Disorder Therapist

Position Summary:
Deliver specialized therapeutic interventions for individuals facing substance use challenges in both residential and outpatient settings. Perform comprehensive assessments, create tailored treatment strategies, and provide individual, group, and family therapy to foster recovery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and formulate personalized treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, stages of change).
  • Lead group therapy sessions effectively.
  • Manage a client caseload while providing compassionate support.
  • Collaborate with external community providers and internal team members.
  • Address crisis situations and offer immediate assistance.
  • Engage with clients' families and contribute to community outreach initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate client documentation and record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in treating substance use disorders.
  • Strong clinical abilities and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • Willingness to obtain PCB certification within one year of employment.

Work Environment:

  • Work in diverse settings, including offices, treatment facilities, and community venues.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
