Your Role as an Addiction Recovery Counselor:
The Addiction Recovery Counselor plays a vital role in facilitating our patients' treatment and recovery from opioid dependency. Counselors provide compassionate, high-quality care through various methods, including both individual and group therapy sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate guidance in both individual and group therapy sessions.
- Plan, oversee, facilitate, and document patient recovery processes.
- Co-facilitate assigned group or family therapy sessions as necessary.
- Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for each assigned patient.
- Conduct initial assessments and follow-up evaluations.
- Assess patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
- May plan aftercare for assigned patients.
- Provide crisis intervention to patients as required.
- Manage case duties for patients, ensuring personalized quality care as needed.
- Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients when necessary.
Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in social or health services field with 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency; or
- Bachelor's degree in social or health services field with 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency; or
- Master's degree in social or health services field with a practicum in a health or human service agency;
- Degree must be from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience and knowledge in addiction recovery and/or MAT (medication-assisted treatment) environments preferred.
- Not required, position applicable to the following: AAC, CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CS, CCS, LPC, BSW, MSW
