We are seeking exceptional technologists to enhance our Solutions Architect team, ensuring that our product (TiDB) and solutions effectively meet customer requirements. The PingCAP Solutions Architects are tasked with identifying TiDB's most beneficial industries and business scenarios across global markets, developing efficient go-to-market strategies, and delivering these insights to regional business teams. They also guide our customers in designing and building reliable, scalable systems utilizing our data platform through professional services. Our team comprises dedicated software and database architects, along with industry specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist business teams across North America, APAC, and Japan, focusing on the new economy sector, ensuring the achievement of relevant business metrics at the solution level, and improving the Proof of Concept (POC) success rate.
  • Provide market insights into global new economy verticals (gaming, e-commerce, fintech, SaaS, etc.), deeply understanding industry business scenarios, and identifying market and data technology trends to develop and implement scenario-based industry solutions.
  • Advise clients on architectural frameworks, patterns, and strategies to maximize the benefits of TiDB.
  • As a technical authority, stay informed about data technology trends, explore the latest data technology stacks and products, and produce high-quality technical content and solutions.
  • Establish industry presence by organizing internal and external technology sharing sessions, promoting distributed database technology, industry data architecture, and best practices.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of solution innovation, with prior experience working with clients or leading architecture teams.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of professional experience, with expertise in at least one database or big data technology stack, demonstrating in-depth research and relevant content output.
  • Broad industry knowledge with a comprehensive understanding of business scenarios and digital processes, along with the ability to identify current trends in the new economy sector.
  • Proficient in scenario abstraction and aligning with data architecture, with a proven track record in scalable and highly available distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated success in selling databases and deploying applications with leading cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Alibaba.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, enabling proactive exploration of customer data architecture needs and guiding solution design.
  • A strong sense of curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning in databases, cloud computing, big data, and emerging technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical, enterprise customer-facing roles.

Compensation: $160,000 - $220,000 annually

The anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD 160K to $220K. Actual individual base pay will depend on various factors, including role complexity, work location, job level, and relevant experience and skills. This position is also eligible for PingCAP's Bonus and Equity Plan, as well as our Sales Compensation Plan if applicable. We share base salary ranges on all U.S. job postings to comply with local legislation and enhance transparency. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. Additional benefits include health insurance, flexible vacation time, paid holidays, and parental leave.
