Nursing care is tailored to meet the individual patient's cultural, spiritual, and age-specific needs.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Quality/No Harm:
Exhibits effective medication administration provided to patients as evidenced by Preceptor Observation Tool, Skills Fair Demonstration, and Clinical Practice.
Demonstrates appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare environment.
Communicates effectively with other members of the healthcare team and fosters effective team collaboration.
Utilizes Health First computer systems for order entry, order inquiry, and patient care documentation.
Displays effective and safe clinical practice as evidenced by Skills Fair demonstration, completion of yearly Competency Assessment, and Age-Specific Checklist.
Coordinates interdisciplinary care plans based on current evidence-based practices.
Accurately documents all nursing care, changes in condition, responses to therapy, treatments, procedures, and referrals in the patient record to meet standards.
Exhibits dependability, reliability, and flexibility.
Stewardship:
Utilizes and maintains equipment and supplies in an economical manner.
Customer Experience:
Provides education to patients, families, and/or caregivers as directed by the care plan.
Delivers service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences.
Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores for the department/medical center, as well as written compliments from patients/others, along with consistent performance of purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
BSN required.
Licensure:
Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement.
Certification:
Must possess a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to the start date and maintain it.
Certification(s) as required by specific unit.
Experience:
Must meet unit-specific care requirements.
Language:
Must be able to comprehend and communicate written and verbal instructions in the English language.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
Must have corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Must be capable of lifting, turning, pulling, pushing, or ambulating patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of the assigned shift.
Potential exposure to biohazardous waste and known or unknown diseases.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must possess the ability to work in a frequently stressful environment with patients/families of various ages and levels of understanding.
Must be able to concentrate on multiple priority activities.
Must respond appropriately to life-threatening situations.
Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
