Job Title: Day Program Direct Support Professional

About the Role:

The Arc Eastern Connecticut is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Program Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized support and assistance to participants in areas such as personal care, daily living skills, social skills, and health needs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized support plans, ensuring participants' needs are met and goals are achieved.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate documentation, including program data, incident reports, and health records.
  • Ensure participants' health and safety, including prevention of abuse, CPR, and evacuation procedures.
  • Provide transportation to recreational and community activities, and prepare meals following published menus.
  • Mentor and assist participants in all areas of life skills, including recreation, independence, communication, and health.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer aptitude and ability to speak/write in English.

Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 2:30pm.

Work Location:

Danielson, CT.
