Job Title: Day Program Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at The Arc Eastern Connecticut. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our day programs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to participants in various aspects of their daily lives, including personal care, recreation, and social skills. You will work closely with our team to design and implement individualized support plans, ensuring that each participant receives the care and support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver training, support, and assistance to participants in areas such as personal care, recreation, and social skills.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and monitoring of individualized support plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications to participants as ordered by physicians.
  • Complete required documentation, including program data, incident reports, and health records.
  • Ensure participants' health and safety, including prevention of abuse and emergency response.
  • Provide transportation to recreational and community activities.
  • Prepare participants' meals following published menus.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to mentor and assist individuals in all areas of life skills, including recreation, independence, communication, and health.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer aptitude and ability to speak/write in English.

Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.
