Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Automation Specialist to join our team at The Building People. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing control system hardware and software programming for smart building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Engineering: Design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Programming and Configuration: Program and configure control systems, including Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation and control systems.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair network issues, including database troubleshooting and repair programming.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the engineering team on system configuration, network, and software requirements, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations.
  • Project Management: Assist in project management, including maintaining accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines, providing owner training, and executing system commissioning and functional testing.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Assist in the installation of control hardware and startup and commission new hardware installations.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and education to lower-level technicians as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: At least 3 years of experience with programming, startup, and commissioning of control systems, including Niagara N4 certification.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, programming skills, strong analytical skills, and experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interactive and communication skills, and excellent customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Abilities: Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs, willing to work at heights, and able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
