Overview of the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate an exceptional experience for credit union members. The Branch Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the operational activities of the branch, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. This role involves the effective training, development, and supervision of branch team members to ensure the prompt and professional delivery of a comprehensive range of services to members and potential members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in all Advia products and services, guiding the team to align offerings with member needs through effective referral practices. Provide coaching that enhances the branch's deposit and loan production.
  • Ensure the branch operates efficiently, maintaining adequate staffing levels to meet service demands, addressing member inquiries and escalations promptly, and assisting with loan and account openings as necessary. Uphold quality standards in compliance with operational policies and organizational guidelines.
  • Actively represent and promote Advia within the community through various educational, volunteer, and branding initiatives.
  • Lead the team to optimize productivity and efficiency, including performance monitoring, coaching, mentoring, training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational values. Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations regarding promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act, while following internal policies to mitigate risk through sound judgment and proactive communication with management.

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of three to five years in a similar or related role, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certification: An associate degree or completion of a specialized course of study equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.

Interpersonal Skills: A high level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy is essential. Engaging in in-depth discussions with customers, team members, and external vendors may involve sensitive and confidential matters. Effective communication skills are necessary for motivating, influencing, educating, and advising others.

Physical Requirements: The role primarily involves sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing or descending stairs in emergencies and operating standard office equipment. Regular computer use for 6-8 hours per day is expected, along with the ability to work extended hours as required.

Working Conditions: The position is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment with minimal noise.

Mental and Emotional Requirements: The ability to work independently or as part of a team is crucial. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions, communicate clearly, and manage interactions with diverse personalities. The role requires composure under pressure, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and the highest level of discretion regarding confidential matters.
