Principal Production Planning and Scheduling Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Production Planning and Scheduling Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman Marine Systems in Sunnyvale, CA. As a key member of our production planning team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and controlling production schedules to ensure a smooth flow of materials and meet production requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and production requirements.
Schedule equipment and personnel to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize downtime.
Coordinate with internal teams, including production coordinator, quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and MRP planning to ensure seamless production operations.
Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
Collaborate with program management to ensure timely communication of production status and changes.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Management.
Minimum 6+ years of experience in production control, production planning, or work center scheduling specifically for onsite manufacturing or in machine shop environment.
2+ years of hands-on experience with Shop Floor or Machine Shop Planning, utilizing MRP system; SAP preferred.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Management.
CPIM or APICS training.
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma process improvement experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
Experience with Earned Value Management.
