Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman Marine Systems (NGMS) is in search of a Principal Production Planning Scheduler for our Sunnyvale, CA facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, organizes, issues, and manages production schedules while monitoring material requirements to ensure a seamless flow of authorized materials aligned with production needs.
  • Coordinates equipment and personnel scheduling, verifies material supply and demand, and generates work orders or purchase requests based on a comprehensive production schedule, shop workload, and inventory necessities.
  • Monitors and assesses the internal status of customer products. Engages in internal production meetings for designated work center areas and promptly communicates status updates to program management.
  • Collaborates with relevant internal teams to swiftly address any scheduling challenges that arise.
  • Facilitates interdepartmental coordination with production coordinators, quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and MRP planning.
  • Shift start: 6:30 am.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in production control, planning, or scheduling within an onsite manufacturing or machine shop environment; or a Master's Degree with at least 4+ years of experience.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of practical experience in Shop Floor or Machine Shop Planning, utilizing MRP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills necessary for determining priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong grammar and vocabulary. Exceptional presentation, project management, and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting is essential).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Management.
  • CPIM or APICS certification.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management is a plus.

Salary Range: $80,600 - $121,000
The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Furthermore, Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
