Role Overview:

Northrop Grumman Marine Systems (NGMS) is in search of a Principal Production Planning Scheduler for our Sunnyvale, CA facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, organizes, issues, and manages production schedules while monitoring material requirements to ensure a seamless flow of authorized materials aligned with production needs.
  • Coordinates equipment and personnel scheduling, verifies material supply and demand, and generates work orders or purchase requests based on a comprehensive production schedule, shop workload, and inventory necessities.
  • Evaluates and monitors the internal status of customer products. Engages in internal production meetings for the designated work center and communicates status updates to program management promptly.
  • Collaborates with appropriate internal teams to swiftly address any scheduling challenges.
  • Facilitates interdepartmental coordination with production coordinators, quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, and MRP planning.
  • Shift start: 6:30 am.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in production control, planning, or scheduling within an onsite manufacturing or machine shop environment; or a Master's Degree with at least 4+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of practical experience in Shop Floor or Machine Shop Planning, utilizing MRP systems; SAP experience preferred.
  • Proven analytical skills necessary for establishing priorities, lead times, and shop floor schedules.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, demonstrating proficiency in grammar and vocabulary. Strong presentation, project management, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (including experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formatting).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Management.
  • CPIM or APICS certification.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management is advantageous.

Salary Range: $80,600 - $121,000
The salary range provided serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman evaluates various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, along with the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to recognize individual contributions and allow employees to share in company outcomes. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Furthermore, Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal matters.
