Position Overview:

The role of a Cloud Computing DevOps Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton involves a unique blend of software development, engineering expertise, and effective communication skills. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and delivering optimal solutions to our clients.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Streamline the software development lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering to monitoring in production.
  • Utilize open-source tools, automation, and cloud resources to minimize repetitive tasks, allowing developers to focus on innovation.
  • Implement continuous integration and delivery practices to reduce manual testing and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop software solutions that have a significant impact on our mission.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and automation engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including IaaS, PaaS, or Serverless offerings.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud deployments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to undergo a polygraph examination.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Directive 8570 or 8140 Series Certification, including Security+ Certification for IAT Level II, within 60 days of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructure using automation tools.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting cloud deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong collaboration skills with developers, operations teams, and stakeholders.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect Certification.
  • Terraform Certified Associate or Ansible Certified Professional Certification.

Clearance Requirements:

Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
