Functional Area: Operations

Reports to: VP of Operations

The District Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the operations of retail restaurant locations within a designated area. This position involves direct engagement with Restaurant Managers to ensure effective team development through coaching, constructive feedback, and professional growth opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all operational policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Focus on the continuous development of staff in managerial and professional skills.
  • Administer fair and consistent corrective actions for policy violations.
  • Design and implement innovative sales strategies to enhance revenue and profitability for assigned restaurants.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts, budget plans, and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Optimize profit margins by managing expenses within budget constraints.
  • Ensure all restaurants achieve or surpass operational and quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate restaurant management performance against quality standards.
  • Maintain adequate management staffing levels in the district as per budgetary guidelines.
  • Set financial performance targets for restaurants and oversee daily operations to align with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with guest relations, food and labor costs, and safety regulations through regular audits.
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality and service to all guests consistently.
  • Perform unannounced assessments of restaurants quarterly to uphold operational standards.
  • Conduct monthly operational reviews with General Managers to develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Ensure budgeted profit and loss results are met and report performance metrics to the VP of Operations.
  • Develop a succession plan for the regional team, addressing performance issues with structured development plans.
  • Recruit and select management candidates while keeping leadership informed of staffing needs.
  • Train and mentor all levels of restaurant management, ensuring growth and retention of talent.
  • Oversee the opening of new restaurant locations as per the established guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Manage promotional activities and merchandising in accordance with company standards.
  • Address urgent operational issues and guide management teams through challenges while keeping supervisors informed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and proficiency in back-office tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience

  • Three to five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday, including bending and stooping.
  • Capable of lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Able to work in various areas of the restaurant, including kitchen and service zones.
