Job Description

Job Summary

The Community Liaison will play a vital role in promoting a safe, cooperative, and professional healthcare environment to ensure optimum patient care. This position will adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including absenteeism, cellular telephone usage, dress code, and rules of conduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner, exercising courtesy and tact.
  • Effectively communicate with patients and others about SBH Health System services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensure that concerns, questions, or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion.
  • Respond to calls and inquiries regarding External Affairs Department activities or programs both internal and external.
  • Help coordinate any events and/or projects that the External Affairs Department hosts or assists with.
  • Participate in and organize participants to participate in Community Outreach events, which may include weekends and/or holidays.
  • Provide instructions and guidance to patients/participants throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Assist with other Patient Engagement activities throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Assist the Administrative Director of Patient & Community Engagement with all Interns and SYEP/1199 Summer Youth participants.
  • Maintain various departmental spreadsheets up to date in TEAMS.
  • Attend daily/weekly staff meetings.
  • Attend monthly Community Board #5 and 6 meetings and relate crucial details back to the department.

Requirements

  • Education Required: Associates Degree/Bachelors in Healthcare.
  • Experience/Skills Required: Bilingual Preferred - Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of various Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Able to work independently and with flexibility.
