Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing work of routine difficulty in procurement, organization, and coordination of resources for the Public Health Services District. The successful candidate will have department-specific responsibility and will be expected to maintain a centralized and standardized purchasing and warehousing program to increase resiliency in the purchase, receipt, distribution, and rotation of goods, materials, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains a centralized and standardized purchasing and warehousing program to increase resiliency in the purchase, receipt, distribution, and rotation of goods, materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Procures, verifies, stores, stages, and distributes goods, materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Receives shipments of resources by loading and unloading boxes, crates, pallets; inspects all shipments for count and damage and stores resources in designated location for distribution or deployment when requested.
  • Logs all received resources into software program with accurate resource category, description, inventory group, group number, description, and quantity.
  • Fills requisition orders and processes documentation according to county procurement policies and procedures.
  • Conducts periodic inventories and maintains adequate inventory control of warehouse items and equipment.
  • Processes requests for critical PPE to area agencies to include determining the availability of resources requested, pulling of requested resources, processing pick-tickets in the software system, and distribution of resources.
  • Contacts vendors for price quotes and product information.
  • Assists in completion of requisitions and invoice processing.
  • Assists in coordination of surplus property auctions by collecting, storing, and disposing of surplus items.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area; ensures safe working procedures are adhered to and reports all unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintains records and reports of all incoming/outgoing surplus; schedules delivery of auction/surplus items.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of work experience in purchasing and warehouse operations and inventory control, OR any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.

  • Knowledge of Federal, state, and county grant regulations and procedures.
  • Health district policies and procedures.
  • Count and state procurement policies and procedures.
  • Basic receiving and distribution methods.
  • Inventory control systems and procedures.
  • Safety hazards and precautions associated with a warehouse operation.
  • Principles and practices of safe motor vehicle operations and basic maintenance.
  • File maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Office practices and procedures.
Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lift and carry boxes, crates, bags, parcel packages, and supplies up to 50 lbs.; work is performed in a warehouse, storage containers, outdoors, and an office environment; operate warehouse equipment such as rolling carts, two-wheeled dollies, and pallet jacks; operate a motor vehicle and travel to/from various locations; perform manual work that requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching arms above the head, and climbing elevations; moderate exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes.
