Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team at TechFlow, Inc. as an Environmental Control Systems Specialist. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems in various commercial establishments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and service air conditioners, ranging from one to 200 tons cooling capacity, in warehouses and small factory buildings.
  • Work on ice machines and their components, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
  • Mount compressor and condenser units on platforms or floors, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
  • Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools.
  • Join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solder joints, using a torch.
  • Install expansion and discharge valves in circuits.
  • Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power sources.
  • Install air and water filters in completed installations.
  • Test systems and add Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure.
  • Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure proper operation.
  • Test joints and connections for gas leaks, using gauges or soap-and-water solutions.
  • Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands.
  • Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in the HVAC trade.
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration License.
  • Valid driver's license without special restrictions.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Regular, dependable attendance.
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC certified course.
  • Experience with HVAC chillers/controls and circuit boards.
